However, assembling a full 10-minute video from a textbook chapter is not yet an automated task. Existing AI tools assist with scriptwriting, voice synthesis, and basic video editing, but the resulting materials often lack the coherence and instructional finesse of videos created by experienced educators.
Recent research highlights advances in natural language processing and computer vision that allow AI to parse and condense textbook content. Still, producing a high-quality educational video typically requires substantial human intervention — including oversight, refinement, and editing — to ensure clarity, engagement, and pedagogical effectiveness. Ongoing developments in AI models and video generation technologies aim to bridge this gap, potentially enabling fully automated, high-standard educational content in the future.

Er bestaan beperkte demonstraties — maar het panel was niet unaniem.
De jury vond de AI in staat om de basis van een les te creëren - scripts en storyboards - maar deinsde terug voor het rommelige midden, waar beelden zichzelf samenstellen met de gratie van een peuter in een karaokebar. Een van de juryleden, beïnvloed door glimpen van geautomatiseerde montage, schreef een "bijna" in, hoewel de jury concludeerde dat deze glimpen nog steeds te zwak schijnen voor prime time. Vonnis in limbo, de hamer rust: AI kan de excursie in kaart brengen, maar het zal de bus nog niet besturen.
The jury found the AI capable of crafting the bones of a lesson—scripts and storyboards—but balked at the messy middle, where footage stitches itself together with the grace of a toddler at a karaoke bar. One juror, swayed by glimmers of automated editing, registered an “almost,” though the bench concluded those glimmers still flicker too faintly for prime time. Verdict in limbo, the gavel rests: AI can outline the field trip, but it won’t yet drive the bus.
