While the performance of these systems is impressive, it is not yet at the level of a human expert, such as a veterinarian or a dog show judge, who can identify subtle characteristics and nuances that may not be apparent from a single photo. However, the gap between AI and human expert performance is narrowing as the quality and size of training datasets continue to improve.
