Stuff AI CAN'T Do

¿Puede la IA ganar una partida de brazo de hierro contra un adolescente ?

¿Qué opinas?

Los robots bípedos aún trabajan en escaleras. La generación de fuerza excéntrica cargada en una postura fija es un problema diferente.

Background

Currently, AI systems are not capable of physically interacting with the environment, so they cannot participate in an arm-wrestling match against a teenager or any other individual. AI is typically confined to software and digital platforms, and its interactions are limited to processing and generating data. While there have been advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence, the development of a robot that can engage in arm-wrestling is not a primary focus of research. The creation of such a robot would require significant breakthroughs in areas like machine learning, computer vision, and mechanical engineering. Bipedal robots are still working on stairs. Loaded eccentric force generation in a fixed posture is a different problem.

¿Puede la IA ganar una partida de brazo de hierro contra un adolescente?

No

Por ahora fuera del alcance de la IA. La brecha de capacidad es real.

Ruling of the Bench

After weighing the record, the jury found no evidence that artificial intelligence has attained the physical embodiment or reflexive strength required for arm-wrestling, even against a teenager, and therefore delivered a unanimous verdict of no. The absence of any robotic contestant capable of matching human torque and tactile finesse left the bench convinced the task remains beyond today’s reach. Ruling: “Until it flexes its own muscles, the answer stays a resounding no.”
