The ability of AI to provide comfort to a dying person is an area of ongoing research, with a focus on developing empathetic and compassionate virtual companions.
Currently, AI systems lack the physical presence and human-like touch required to comfort a dying person in the way a thoughtful human would, which involves physical contact and empathy.
