AI systems are being explored for their potential to provide emotional support and companionship, including sitting with someone who is grieving. While AI cannot physically sit with someone, virtual agents and chatbots can offer a listening presence and provide resources and support to those in need. These systems can be designed to be empathetic and understanding, using natural language processing to respond to emotional cues and provide comfort.
